The Athens week in figures

The autumn session of the Athens week* took place from 15th – 22nd November 2014.

Once again, this exchange week was highly successful.

  • 2,316 students participated in the programme, including 1,416 students from ParisTech
  • 1,216 ParisTech students took part in a session at a ParisTech member school
  • 8 of ParisTech’s schools participated in the Athens week: AgroParisTech, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Chimie ParisTech, École des Ponts ParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech, Institut d'Optique Graduate School, MINES ParisTech and Telecom ParisTech
  • 93 lectures were given, including 59 organised by the ParisTech schools
  • 1,062 étudiants took part in a session overseas, including 200 students from ParisTech

ParisTech welcomed many foreign students from all over Europe: Leuven, Milan, Prague, Munich, Madrid and Delft. Romain Soubeyran, the director of MINES ParisTech, formally welcomed them to his school on Saturday 15th November.

The programme also provided an opportunity for foreign and French students to meet up and share ideas as they looked round Paris on a series of cultural trips.

The next Athens session will take place in spring 2015.

* Athens is a scientific and cultural exchange programme which was created in 1997, and which enables European students to attend lectures in ParisTech schools or in overseas partner universities, and take part in cultural activities.
