Guillaume Ravel
2014 will be marked by the arrival of the new Director of Fondation ParisTech, Guillaume Ravel, who is also appointed as ParisTech's Business Relations Representative.
Guillaume Ravel graduated from the École Centrale in Lyon in 1983 and began his career as an R&D Engineer at the company Cit-Alcatel. After obtaining his Doctorate from Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble in 1987, he decided to pursue a career at Alcatel, driven by the desire to work for French industry in a high-tech field.
Strongly attracted by innovation, in 1991 he was made responsible for R&D at Alcaltel Comptech, a subsidiary based in Silicon Valley.
In 1995, on returning to France, he joined the CEA (Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission). During nearly 20 years at the CEA, Guillaume Ravel ran research laboratories performing about a dozen technology transfers, and in 2009 was made responsible for HR in the Technological Research Department at CEA.
”It is an exciting mission to create a link between our Grandes Écoles and business! Of course, there are already many close and historical ties; it is a matter of strengthening this co-operation since several ParisTech Grandes Écoles could be involved, in a spirit of service and provider. For the sake of effectiveness and clarity, I will take care of this mission for the Fondation and the central organisation. This provides a single contact point for industry, without prejudice to the course of action which would be involved in our arrangements, sponsorship or partnership. I am pleased to combine my efforts with Alain Bamberger, Research, Innovation and Development Representative in the development of multi-institutional, cross-functional topics."
